Recruiting Report: Dane Zimmer (2019)
Dane Zimmer once again showed this weekend in St. Cloud that few bigs are as intelligent and as hard working as he is.
The Hopkins frontcourt included top 150 talent Zeke Nnaji (19 points a game), Wisconsin signed Joe Hedstrom (ten points a game), and the 6-foot-6 Zimmer who gave Hopkins nine points and about six boards a contest off the bench.
“We had a great season, but we just couldn’t finish it in sections,” Zimmer said. “I have gotten more confident in my game after this season.”
Hopkins went 26-2 this year and now Zimmer is focused on his time with Minnesota Fury Wilde. This weekend the Fury played to the championship game earning second place and Zimmer scored ten in that title game.
Schools in the area spent a lot of time watching Zimmer and the list of schools talking to Dane will grow.
“I am playing with Minnesota Fury,” Dane said. “We have only had a couple practices, but I feel like we are going to have a great year.
“I’ve heard from St. Thomas, Southwest Minnesota State, and St. John’s.”
