Recruiting Report: 2019 Eric Dixon
On April 17th, Eric Dixon, out of Abington, Pennsylvania will make his college decision. Dixon is noted as one of the top power forwards in the country and should help make an immediate impact to whatever college program he decides to go to. Dixon is very physical, can knock down shots and he can rebound well on both sides of the ball Last weekend we caught up with him at the DMV Elite Live Period Warmup to talk about how his high school season went and previewed his final four schools.
“This high school season was good, we finished 24-6, made it to the elite 8, which is the farthest that I have ever been in my life or my career of high school so overall it was a good year even though I think it could have been a little better.”
Dixon recently cut his list to four schools including Seton Hall, Louisville, Villanova and Virginia. He spoke about each program to us.
Seton Hall: “They are a tough and gritty culture. I think that program really matches me well because I play tough and physical and I feel like they play with that same type of vibe.”
Louisville: “Coach Mack was recruiting me at Xavier so I am very familiar with him. I like the way they play inside out and he has shown he has done very well at big time programs. He always has good scorers and they work off each other well.”
Villanova: “They are the national champs, they play great basketball, the culture is great, its a hard working culture, they win so many games and they share the basketball so well as a team.”
Virginia: “Another hard working culture, the defense they play there is unreal and they have told me how they will help me improve on my weaknesses.”
When asked what he is looking at when choosing a college destination, he went on to say, “I am trying to find that perfect balance which includes playing time and winning. I could probably go somewhere and play 30-35 minutes per game but I want to go somewhere that I can win.”
