Prospect Spotlight: Zach Carr (2020)
When the stage was biggest, Zach Carr flourished, and because of his success off the bench for Glenwood at the state tourney in March, his stock has risen considerably.
Carr — who transferred from Valley to Glenwood during his freshman season — was essential to helping the Rams win the 3A state title last season. And has two years left of grassroots and high school ball to prove his worth to college coaches around the nation.
He certainly proved his worth to us at PHIA and high school hoops fans alike by averaging 7.3 points per game as a sophomore on a 3A state title team.
And it was his role as a staunch defender that he took most serious.
“I think that I was a big part of the team this year because I would guard either the first or second best player on the other team,” Carr said. “I feel like I played good this year because I would run the floor well and always brought a spark to the game.”
Carr expects to be the starting point guard next season for a Glenwood team that will again be stacked.
But first, he’ll spend his spring and summer playing with a very talented Pure Prep 16U unit. He’s hoping that the college coaches start to pay attention.
“My plans for the spring and summer are to get a lot of exposure to colleges,” said Carr. “And my goal this season is to get an offer.”
