There are a lot of talented basketball players in Louisiana. There are some however, that appear to be on the brink of having huge breakout seasons. Jerome Anthony is one of those players. He is a talented junior point guard at Sophie B. Wright High School. Anthony is playing AAU basketball for We All We Got (W.A.W.G.).

Jerome Anthony has a nice skill set combined with superb athleticism. He’s a fast point guard with a very quick first step. Anthony is a solid ball handler who can handle nose-to-nose defenders. He sees the floor well and makes crisp passes to open teammates. Anthony plays strong defense on the perimeter. He is able to play the game at any pace as well.

Anthony has been, and continues to be, extremely active in the prep basketball world in Louisiana. His Sophie B. Wright High School squad was a Final 4 team last season. He’s a key player for WAWG AAU and is eagerly anticipating a tough AAU schedule. Anthony is also looking forward to summer league with his high school team.

Jerome Anthony knows the direction he wants to go with basketball and understands the hard work it will take to get there. He is currently spending time in the gym fine tuning his strengths and working to become a more steady scorer. Anthony is using AAU season as a chance to improve as a basketball player and to prepare himself for high school season. He wants to be successful and to someday be a great college basketball player. “My greatest motivation is my family. They is always there for me and they make sure I have everything and also they work hard for me to be successful,” said Anthony.

Jerome Anthony has a lot to offer a program at the next level. Obviously, his basketball and athletic abilities allow him to play the game at a high level. But Anthony brings more than that to the table. He has leadership skills and plays the game with heart. These things are unmeasurable traits that can’t be learned. While Anthony hasn’t had recruiting news yet, he anticipates that happening after a big spring and summer season.
