Prospect Spotlight: Dante Vaughn (2020)
A strong-willed guard who loves the game of basketball is Dante Vaughn.
The 2020 Lennard guard averaged 5.5 PPG in a role off the bench while featured five 10 point outings this past season. Vaughn called his sophomore campaign, a great one.
“I learned that I have great talent and when I use my length and my height I can be an extreme lockdown defender,” Vaughn told Prep Hoops Florida. “My shot is nice and my handles as long as I keep working I will become better and better and become one of the best.”
There is no short of confidence in the 6’1″, 153-pounder. Although he has no offers or interest yet, he’s going to draw looks this summer playing for the Showtime Ballers.
In his first year with the program, Vaughn says it is a good experience to play against talented players so he can improve his game.
In terms of his biggest strengths, Vaughn alluded to his shooting, handling of pressure and the ball, passing, basketball IQ, defense and athleticism. He wants to continue to better his finish through contact and use of fouls.
Vaughn has room to grow in height and on the court. With a Lennard group that underwhelmed a year ago, I project a steady role for him as a junior. For now, he’s soaking it all in and looking to better his all-around game with the Showtime Ballers.
