Now is the time of year when prospects shine. Cameron McEvans is certainly starting to shine. The skilled guard from the class of 2019 is moving up recruiting boards with his performance. McEvans is from Southfield A&T and is playing AAU ball with the Michigan Playmakers. He shoots the ball very well and plays the game with a high basketball IQ. He’s efficient with his shot and the game seems to come naturally to him.

McEvans has had big basketball moments throughout high school. He once hit 10 three pointers in a game and scored 40 points. McEvans has a lot beyond just experience to offer a college basketball program. His shot and his ability to get his teammates involved are saught after by coaches at the next level. McEvans can provide a program with a versatile athlete who also plays football and runs track.

Cameron McEvans is a young man with goals. This summer he wants to receive a scholarship offer and win tournaments. McEvans has long term basketball goals that include playing in college and playing overseas or in the NBA. Off the court, he wants to go to college and get a degree in medicine. He’d like to use that degree to do something involving athletic training.  Anyone that knows Cameron McEvans, knows that these goals are attainable for this young man.

Cameron McEvans has earned a look from college coaches. Lawrence Tech has shown interest, while Madonna University and Ferris State have also talked to him. As the spring and summer seasons play out, McEvans has a chance to make some serious noise.

Cameron McEvans is driven to be successful. “My parents are my greatest motivation. They push me hard on and off the court and them caring and giving me everything I need to succeed pushes me to do better and achieve my goals,” he said.
