Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some players who continue to stay Under the Radar from the Phenom Challenge Live event held this past weekend in Spartanburg, SC.
Cleo Canty – Hammond School – 3 Ball Elite
Canty a left-handed shifty guard played well this weekend for 3 Ball Elite. Canty really likes to have the ball in his hands at times does dance with it. Canty didn’t turn the ball over today and found the open man on several occasions.
Norman Nowell – Richland Northeast HS (Columbia) – 3 Ball Elite
Nowell got to the basket on occasion today and really played well in the passing lanes. Nowell averaged 12 ppg this past season for the Cavaliers.
Frank Lee – Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS – Upward Stars Riverfront
Lee recently joined the team a few weeks back Lee has a great frame and a lot confidence in his game. Lee really likes to play the point guard spot and sees the floor quite well. Lee still likes to use the bounce pass. You just don’t see a lot of players that still use it.
Maison Hall – Aiken HS – Upward Stars Riverfront
Hall has to decide one day not today what sport he wants to play in college. Hall really can get to the basket and rebound the basketball very well from the guard position. Hall a strong guard also excels on the football field as a defensive back.
Stephon Greene – Carvers Bay HS (Hemingway) – Manzer 17U
Greene 6’6 has really started to make the turn in the right direction. Greene is coming off a solid junior season and a 2nd place finish trophy to Gray Collegiate in the SCHSL 2A State Championship Game. Greene averaged 13.1 ppg and 9.7 rebounds for the Bears this past season.
Daniel Finney – AC Flora HS – Upward Stars Columbia
Finney 6’5 was on the attack this weekend with his play. Finney handled the rock at times and played with some great toughness on the floor. Finney is looking to have a big senior season for the Falcons.
David Muncy – Shannon Forest Christian (Greenville) – Upward Stars Upstate Silver 17 (pictured on front)
Muncy 6’2 gives you all you want in a player and that’s just complete effort at all times. Muncy is always in a defensive stance and if the ball is heading into the corners you can expect to see him in the pile somewhere. Muncy doesn’t back down from any challenges and plays with some swag or confidence.
Muncy averaged 24.8 ppg, 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds this past season. Shannon Forest Christian lost 3 games to eventual state champion Spartanburg Day School.
