Intro: Anthony Sayles (2021)
Niles Notre Dame 2021 point guard Anthony Sayles is an athletic quick twitched athlete that is a tough cover in transition. He weaves in and out of the defense and is a great layup maker at the rim. Gets to the hoop on a consistent basis. Nice passer that can throw them with bullet dishes as well as putting touch on it. He rebounds well for his size with an explosive second jump. D1 prospect early on.
He was a key part to a young and talented Niles Notre Dame team this spring.
“It was good. We went through a lot of ups and downs. We didn’t have that many seniors this year so we didn’t have anybody to lead us. It was time for the underclassmen to step up.”
What are the strengths of his game?
“Getting to the basket and attacking people off the drive. I will shoot it occasionally if the defense gives it to me, but my main priority is getting to the basket.”
He is excited to be playing with the Illinois Wolves on the UAA circuit.
“I am looking for a lot of competition. That is what I came here for. Playing with the best and getting wins.”
Nothing too much going on with recruiting early.
“I have heard from Purdue sending me a couple letters.”
