‘Roster Breakdown: This roster is loaded. What stands out with this roster is the fact that there are three 6’10 kids on the roster, you don’t see that on some college rosters. The guard spot is really good with North Carolina commit Jeremiah Francis and Alex Hemenway at the helm. Korbin Spencer is receiving some D1 interest and is a great floor general. The wings are all super athletic and can shoot the ball along with the three bigs to man the middle. No one is going to finish inside on this team as Aristide Boya and Mawich Kachjaani are elite shot blockers.
Guy You Have To Watch: Mason Gillis (New Castle)
The 6’7 big man broke out this past season and is continuing to do so. He has been offered by countless high major programs and he is starting to shoot the ball well from deep. He’s a guy that can play with his back to the basket or facing up. On this team he will more likely than not play inside-out since they have so many bigs. He is versatile enough that they may stick him on the wing at times. Look for him to be aggressive all summer long.
Best Bet To End Up Breaking Out: Mawich Kachjaani (Indianapolis International)
Kachjaani is an elite shot blocker and rebounder as he has led the state in both the past couple of years. He struggles a bit on offense sometimes but I think this is the summer where he finally puts it all together and becomes a force on the offensive end. He has been working on scoring inside off the catch more and I expect that if he shows that he is able to do that at a high level, he could be in for a huge climb up the rankings.
Who Should Be Watching: D1
Every team in D1 should be taking a look at this team. There are so many pieces here that they can use. They have players that are going to go high major and mid major on this roster, but I think one or two may fall to a low major school. They do have two commits thus far with Francis (UNC) and Boye (Bradley) so this is a very high level team. Don’t be surprised if you see some big name coaches out watching them this summer.
