2018-19 Way Too Early Top 5
We take a look at the early favorites in class 3A for the 2018-19 season. Note that these are very fluid with so many private schools in this classification, that regularly have movement on their rosters. Also, this list doesn’t include schools that are moving down from the 4A level in next year’s OSAA realignment. Several of these programs are likely to have immediate success.
1. Santiam Christian – The Baugher brothers return for the Eagles, who were ranked in the Top 5 most of this season.
2. Dayton – The Pirates return several key pieces from their state runner up team including point guard Braden Nowlin.
3. Delasalle – The state champs suffer some key losses, but return a group of talented athletes lead by Kadeem Nelson.
4. Catlin Gabel – Catlin returns most of the key pieces from a group that was a buzzer beater away from advancing to the Elite 8.
5. Pleasant Hill – The Billies bring back most of their roster including talented 2019 performers Stephen Parmenter and Logan Pruitt.
