Circle City Shootout: 2021 Standouts Pt. 2
The second AAU weekend for Prep Hoops Indiana is complete and we got to see some really solid teams for the second weekend. Today, we finish our breakdown by class of those prospects that stuck out to us. Next up is part two of the 2021 prospects.
Jaden Rogers | 6’ PG | G3 Grind 2021 | Fern Creek HS (KY)
Rogers is a quick twitch lead guard who has the handles and vision to stay on the ball into college. He was really impressive on defense as well as he picked up full court. He was suffocating the ball handler. He didn’t look to score that much but that will come with time. A really good prospect right now who could be really good. Looks the part of a D1 guard.
Darrius Washington | 6’7 PF | G3 Grind 2021 | Fern Creek HS (KY)
Washington is the guy with the highest ceiling on this team. He is a long forward with the ability to play at all three levels. Needs to improve his mobility a little but is already very polished. He does really well in the post and that’s where he earns his keep. A very active rebounder who pulls down a ton of boards.
Lane Sparks | 6’1 SG | G3 Grind 2021 | Greensburg HS (IN)
Sparks is a shooter who can really fill it up from behind the line. He creates his own shot a little bit on the wing and rises up high on his shot. He has decent handles but his best asset is his shooting ability. Needs to improve his strength a little bit and his court IQ but is solid overall. Solid mid major plus prospect.
Chris Hodges | 6’8 PF | Illinois Wolves 15U | Schaumberg HS (IL)
Hodges was one of the toughest players this weekend that I saw. He’s huge for a sophomore to-be and plays really well within his body. He’s an athletic freak who is able to get to the rim at will. A guy who will be highly sought after at the next level. Can do everything on the floor.
