After a mass graduation a year ago the Tartan Titans were still able to put together a strong 22 win season. The key ingredient to this new squad carrying on the Tartan success?  Junior Antwan Kimmons.

“Things went really well for my team because we did what everybody thought we couldn’t do and we went out there and competed every night and played our hardest,” Antwan said.  “As for myself things were rocky for me coming in because I had to take on a role that I wasn’t use to but I embraced it and my teammates helped me and I thank them for that so my winter season was great.”

Kimmons scored 20.2 points per game this winter creating shots within the offense after he ignited the offense as the point guard.  A reason Kimmons became the threat he was this year, and will be in the future is his improvements shooting the basketball.

“Shooting the basketball!” Kimmons said with instant excitement when talking about what he has improved over the winter.

“For sure if that’s one thing I’ve improved on it’s that hands down, it’s been times this year we’re I hit big time shots that I couldn’t hit last year. I still need to keep working though because I’m not satisfied with my results.”

Kimmons is a member of the Howard Pulley team that will play it’s first EYBL games this weekend in Dallas.  The Panthers were in Ames, Iowa two weeks ago and won four of five games.

“We got some pretty high profile guys like one of the best kids from Wisconsin (Nobal Days) so that’s going to be exciting to play with him but I know we’re going to be good if everyone knows their role on that team and plays it to their best ability.

“I’m also thank for the opportunity and ready to take on the Pulley tradition.”

A number of college programs have said they plan on watching Antwan compete with the Panthers the next two weekends.

“Drake, Denver, Northern Illinois, Tulane, Kennesaw State, George Washington, Cal St. Fullerton, and Buffalo are the schools that have told me they are going to be watching me on the EYBL circuit so far,” Kimmons said.
