Prep Hoops session I Los Angeles was held Saturday and Sunday April 14-15 at Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks. Here is a look at the top prospects in the classes of 2020 and 2021 that caught our attention.

Top Prospects (*indicates highest consideration)

6’7 SF Jaden Hardy of Coronado HS 2021 (United/Supreme/Prospects)

Nice athlete, loves to pull up on the break. Shoots it ok with 3-range, drives it well, can rebound. High level prospect.

6’2 SG Armond Muldrew of Orange Vista HS, 2020 (Pump N Run 16)

Two guard with some strength and athleticism. Solid ball handler and passer. Good driver who attacks. Capable defender.

6’8 PF/C JB Mukeba of Hillcrest Academy 2020 (Cal Supreme Select)

Fairly athletic combo postman with long arms. Has a knock for blocking shots, consistent rebounder. Has a one-bounce drive from the mid-range area, finishes inside. A tad tiny and could use some bulk/strength.

6’1 CG Adrian Mc Intire of Saugus HS 2020 (Pump N Run 16)

Confident ball handler and passer, sees the floor well. Has a nice transition floater. Has a pull up game in the half court. Moves well without the ball. Good shooter with 3-range (catch and shoot with a fairly quick release).

*6’4 SF Tyler Powell of St. Bernard’s HS 2021 (Cal Supreme 16)

Bright young prospect. Solid driver who goes to the basket with authority. Good rebounder who pursues the ball. Shoots it fairly well with 3 range.

*6’3 PG Garrett Schaefer of Temecula Valley HS 2020 (Gamepoint Inland)

Very nice skills set and a real good feel for the game. Accomplished ball handler and passer, solid playmaker in transition, runs the team. Make things happen and really commands the game.

6’1 SG Marcel Stevens of Beverley Hills HS 2020 (I Can)

Active and athletic. Makes plays with the ball in his hands. Has a pull up game in the half court and a hesitation move. Fairly good shooter with 3-point range.

*6’6 G/W Julian Strawther of Liberty HS 2020 (United/Supreme/Prospects)

Has the whole package offensively and can play any perimeter position. Solid ball handler and passer, makes plays in transition consistently. Pulls up well- on the break and in the half court. Good shooter with long 3-point range, has a nice floater. Capable rebounders. Just an ok athlete.
