Prospect Spotlight: 2019 Quincy Guerrier
2019 small forward, Quincy Guerrier, led the D.C. Adidas Gauntlet Series in scoring this weekend after finishing with an impressive 26.8 points per game. As soon as his first game started this past weekend, he caught our eyes. Unfortunately, his team went 0-4 on the three day event but the 6’7 small forward did everything he could to help his team. The junior is a terrific shooter and a guy that brings a ton of energy to both sides of the ball. Defensively, he will do whatever his coach wants him to do and all of these traits make Quincy the ultimate team leader. This first live weekend stats are very similar to his past high school season and he spoke on this past junior season.
“It went very well, we finished 28-2 and I averaged 26 points per game. We had a really good team and it was a lot of fun playing with the guys.”
The opening weekend numbers put up by Quincy were a great way to start on some goals he has for this spring and summer, “I want to be in the top five for scoring leaders on the Adidas Gauntlet, I want to work on my handle and just help my team.”
A number of schools are making Quincy a priority with the likes of, “Syracuse, Oklahoma, Florida, Oregon and Creighton.”
He spoke about Syracuse with us, “I am very interested in them because I think they play my type of game, they play a 2-3 zone and they have guys that play like me so I feel like I fit the Syracuse type.”
He thinks he could be a good Buddy Hield resemblance if he chose Oklahoma, “If I am going to Oklahoma, I would play like a Buddy Hield because like I said, I am working on my handle and then I would be there.”
Florida is another school he is keeping in his mind, “They are recruiting me but I need to talk a little more to them.”
Oregon has a connection of getting guys from Canada and the Ducks are on Guerrier’s radar, “I like them a lot and they always have a good program. I know some guys on that team.”
He believes that he will take an official visit to Creighton, “They play 5 out and I like that a lot, they have pretty good shooters and I feel like I would fit right in.”
He think he knows two schools he wants to take an official visit to, but obviously things could change, “For now I know that I want to officially visit Syracuse and Creighton. I do not know where I want to take my other official visits though.”
