What’s Going On? Recruitment Updates in NC
- Kerr Vance Academy/Garner Road Guard Andreas Wilson is headed to Wingate University, he was featured in our ‘‘Books and Ball’’ article earlier this year as he was a player who had bigtime performances on the court as well as in the classroom. He’s a tremendous athlete and came through in the clutch for his team in the state playoffs knocking down a buzzer beater to help the team advance.

Terry Sanford HS Wing Holt Walker is off the boards and headed to Pitt CC, Walker had a very nice season for Terry Sanford and with the right amount of work he can develop into a solid college player. He’s a legit 6’4-6’5 with the ability to shoot the deep ball and has decent athletic ability, if he improves with his quickness and defense then we could see him playing solid minutes this year.

Bridgewater Picks up A Bonafide backcourt in Guards Liam Caswell and Jimmie Sanders III as they both committed this week. Sanders has been a player that schools have overlooked mainly due to his height but other than that he is a scholarship guy. He is one of the quicker players that you will see and he has a very high IQ for the game, don’t be surprised to see him be an All-Freshman, and All-Conference type player sooner than later. Caswell’s recruitment was difficult due to the location of where he lives, it’s quite a drive, plus a ferry ride to go see this youngster play. At 6’4 with a game that keeps getting better, he is another steal for the Bridgewater program, he can score the ball in multiple ways and has added athleticism. Both of these young men are great students, high character and are a steal for the Bridgewater College program as they can come in right away and do well.

There are some former NC HS Stars on the move as Guard Tyler Maye and Wing David Caraher are both available to talk to all college programs. Maye played his first season at VCU while Caraher spent his year at Houston Baptist University.

Hargrave Military/Team Wall 6’6 Wing DJ Myers is still on the board, if you’re looking for a D1 wing then this young man is who you need to be calling. He can score from all over the floor, is athletic, coachable and most importantly a high character youngster.
