The spring is now just about here and we are spending time over the next month preparing and previewing all you need to know about the 2021 class as AAU gets ready to get going.  We will breakdown many areas with not only position breakdowns but the best of the best. Today, we are looking at those top shooting guards in the 2021 class.

Breakdown: The class of 2021 has depth at nearly every spot on the floor with DI type talent everywhere and the Shooting Guards are really interesting to look at.  At the top of the list you have a star in Pierce Thomas and he is still fairly raw in his development right now.  But you also have Colson Montgomery who is coming off an outstanding freshman season.

Further down the list, it has a lot of upside as guys like Trevor Taylor, Michael Eley, Ronald Johnson, Chris Mantis, Isaac Vencel, and Lincoln Hale can all boast successful first seasons in high school.  Of those, Taylor and Mantis stand out. Taylor looks like he’s going to really be a player and Mantis is already looking like he’s going to be one of the more well rounded players in the state.

There is a lot of guys here to like moving forward as well. The biggest takeaway from this list is that there are a lot of guys who still have to develop and could really fly up the list.  Michael Eley isn’t near the player he will be in four years, Andrew Carlton has some upside to tap into, Aidan Booher might be the best shooter in the class, and Ronald Johnson has a ton of promise.

The guys we will take a longer look at this spring and summer will be Ronald Johnson, who we missed a bit due to injury, Isaac Vencel, and Colson Montgomery, who will battle with other sports for a good chunk of his career.
