The spring is now just about here and we are spending time over the next month preparing and previewing all you need to know about the 2019 class as AAU gets ready to get going.  We will breakdown many areas with not only position breakdowns but the best of the best. Today, we are looking at those toughest prospects in the 2019 class.

Prospect HT POS High School
Mason Gillis 6’7 PF New Castle
Logan Carter 6’10 C Evansville Mater Dei
Jalen Johnson 6’7 PF Indianapolis Manual
Zach Dove 6’5 C Princeton
Sammy Robbins 6’5 PF Linton-Stockton

The post players in this class exemplify all of the toughness you want. There are guys at each level that are going to give you that kind of strength and effort on each play.

Mason Gillis has the best motor in the class and his toughness is just built off of that. He’s so physical and now that he has grown a bit, he’s too much to handle for basically anyone else in the state.

Logan Carter has a really good motor as well but he’s so massive and has that fight in him. He tends to get doubled a ton but he was really good handling that and overpowering guys. Big, tough, post player.

Jalen Johnson has developed to the point where his body is starting to put the skill into motion. He’s built so well and the motor is improving.  Giving him this summer, his toughness is going to shine though.

Zach Dove is built to be a small school post player.  He’s so, so active and while not terribly tall, he’s really physical and can battle with the best of them for rebounds.  About as tough as you are going to find.

Sammy Robbins is a guy we found this year and he’s much like Dove in that he’s built perfectly for a small school post position. He’s a little more finesse but he can really be tough on the board and in the post on offense.
