When looking at the best rebounders in the state, the guards are an interesting bunch with a variety of skills. The best skills to have are instincts, strength, and toughness.
Brandon Newman probably has the best combination of all of these. He’s a big guard who has really good athleticism and he’s about as strong as they come. Tracks the ball well off the rim and will just be more physical than anyone else.
Armaan Franklin uses more of his length and athleticism to get it done. With his game, he usually is already inside the arc and is just able to get to the spot better and more efficiently than anyone else.
Josh Williams is surprisingly good for his size. Really thin but smaller guards tend to end up really good rebounders because they have more speed and craftiness and that is what we see in Williams.
Elijah Hales is such a big guard that has the IQ you covet, that he just always seems to put himself into good position to make plays. Doubt there are many guys at his position that can body him up.
J.P. Carroll is similar to Williams in that he is quicker and crafty. But Carroll is built really well and can handle about anything you throw at him. He plays with high-end talent and still gets the job done.
