Recruiting Report: Kellen Schreiber (2018)
One of the most underrated players in the state, is on one of the most selfless teams. Kellan Schreiber, a 6’5 wing, is a guy who can score at all three levels and drive the ball past you. He’s scoring 12 points a game this year, tops for the 18-6 Roncalli Rebels.
Thus far, Schreiber has taken visits to Findlay, Goshen, Marian, and Wabash. He doesn’t have any more visits planned so you can expect he will attend one of these four.
Schreiber has improved over the past year a ton. Coaches have come in and watched him, leading to a couple offers for Schreiber. Over the past year, he has really worked on his three-point shot in part to try and expand his game.
“I am working on my three-point shot, “Schreiber responded. “Last year, a lot of my scoring was done in the paint and this year I feel like my mid-range and driving have been a lot better and have opened up more possibilities.”
The coaches all say something similar about why they want him to choose their school. Schreiber has a knack for the ball but still has to work on his long range.
“(They coaches) say they like the energy and passion I bring to the game,” Schreiber said.
Schreiber is a tall wing who is versatile enough to play multiple positions. He’s strong enough to guard three positions on the floor as well. His shot from outside is getting better and in another year or so he could be deadly from outside. He’s a great rebounder for his position and will immediate impact player. In the future, Schreiber knows what kind of school he is looking for and that will help him out with the college search going forward.
“I am looking to be close to home,” Schreiber said. “I want a good education and a good basketball program.”
