Recruiting Report: Jacob Germany (2019)
The first offer of 2018 for Kingston/Team Griffin 2019 Post Jacob Germany came on Friday afternoon. The spring and summer are the hottest time for recruitment of players. Germany now has two offers with Mercer extending an official offer. TCU is the other school that has offered Germany. Germany is a skilled big man with great upside. He has good touch around the rim and is excellent at finishing around the rim. Germany has some springs to his game, which help him block shots on defense and rebound.
Germany is ready to get to work to improve his game further this summer. He is constantly having to show others despite growing up in a small school in Oklahoma he has game.
“The biggest thing I want to work on is my all-around game,” said Germany. “Dribbling, shooting, and post work. I want to make sure I am at my best in all of those areas. I’m going to a personal trainer to help with getting stronger, quicker, and faster.”
Mercer Head Coach Bob Hoffman visited Germany at school on Friday. Germany knows a little bit about Mercer.
“I know they are a very unique and different school,” said Germany. “They have very experienced coaches and great all around people.”
This is the biggest summer of Jacob’s early basketball career. At the end of the summer, Germany will narrow his list to the schools that have offered and make the choice of where he will play in college. Germany has high goals for the grassroots circuit with Team Griffin.
“My goals this summer are to play against some of the best players in the country and gain experience from it,” said Germany. “Also to get my name out there and prove the doubters wrong.”
Adding to the load Jacob will have this spring he is going to be playing baseball. He is a competitor in both sports.
“Playing baseball and basketball really packs my schedule this spring but I love it,” said Germany.
Germany has a sweet 85+ MPH fastball that makes him quite the baseball prospect as well. He fully intends to play basketball in college. Aggression and competitiveness are two qualities college coaches are hoping to see this spring on the hardwood. If Germany can silence his doubters with toughness, be aggressive, and compete at both ends of the floor he will have a long list of college offers at the end of the summer.
