Recruiting Report: David Roddy (2019)
Breck three sport standout David Roddy recently took a trip south for college visits for both football and hoops. The 6-foot-5/6-foot-6 explosive athlete recapped his trip.
Roddy’s offer list includes Drake, Northern Iowa, and North Dakota basketball and Northern Iowa, NDSU, and USD for football. He’s also hearing from Minnesota and Iowa for football and visited both this past weekend.
“The Gopher visit on Thursday went very well,” Roddy said. “I saw their spring practice, and it was very high paced where everyone is moving. The coaches were loud and music was going, and there was lots of excitement around the practice. It was fun to watch.
“Minnesota said they will keep in touch, and want me to visit again soon. No talk of an offer yet. I also just visited Iowa and they are very interested in me. They will keep recruiting me hard and many different Hawkeye position coaches want me at their positions, and they’d be glad to have me. I spoke with coach Bell the most, he’s the defensive line coach, and we kicked it off immediately. Overall, they want to see me throw in the spring, so no offer talk until they see me throw.”
Other schools hope to have to get Roddy on campus against soon.
“South Dakota and North Dakota are trying to get me on campus, and I already visited Northern Iowa before Iowa, but no visits are planned right now,” Roddy said. “I’m just taking time to get ready for AAU basketball and track now.”
Roddy led Breck basketball in scoring (25.4 points), rebounding (12.4), assists (5), steals, and blocks.
