Recruiting Report: Caleb Love (2020)
One of the premier prospects from the state of Missouri in the 2020 class is CBC point guard Caleb Love. I was extremely impressed with what this floor general did early in the season when I evaluated him. He controls the tempo and is under control at all times. Looks like a conductor running the show! Gets everyone on the floor involved with crisp passing both making the simple and spectacular passes equally well. We have seen him in the past as more a smooth player, but the explosion has showed this year with a quick burst on his first step. Love is a monster on the defensive end with his quickness and active hands. High-majors get on it NOW! Top 100 kid nationally in our eyes.
Love chatted with us about his season.
“I feel that I have had an ok season. I feel that I could’ve done a lot better. I’ve been inconsistent, but that has changed the past few games. I believe I got my swagger back and look forward to getting my team to win this next game on our road to state.”
He spoke about the strength of his game at the lead guard spot.
“I believe my strengths in my game are scoring, locking up on defense, and getting my teammates involved. I can score with the best of them. I always want to guard the best player on the other team. I can see the floor very well and know when to get my teammates the ball.”
The CBC 2020 point guard updated us on his recruitment.
“St. Louis offered. Iowa came in to see me play. Xavier and Iowa State want me up on campus for a visit soon. Illinois came to see me practice in the last month or so and wants me up on campus for a visit also.”
What stands out about St. Louis University?
“I recently went to their game. It was a great experience to watch. The coaching staff treats me good and they emphasized that they want me to stay home. I believe their program is great and I have a decent relationship with Jordan Goodwin so we talk from time to time.”
