Recruiting Report: Bryce Bultman (2019)
Nashville 2019 Bryce Bultman is a 6’5” point guard that has great size which allows him to see over the defense. His vision especially in the half court is off the charts. He has a high basketball IQ and the feel for finding teammates with crisp passes on the money every single time! Love how this kid passes the rock. He makes others around him better. He is not an overly explosive athlete, but glides into the lane where he can score or get to the line. Better rotation on his jumper than we saw in the summer and fall with elevation off the floor. Clean stroke from three and can also stop and pop from mid-range. Excellent job rebounding out of this jumbo point guard. Gets on the offensive glass for second chances. Low-major prospect for sure and definitely could become a mid-major target by the end of the spring! He spoke with PHI about his junior season at Nashville.
“It is going pretty good. It has been pretty much me doing the scoring. If they double me I throw it to Carson (Parker) or my shooters and they do the scoring. It is good getting those assists. I am pretty much doing everything scoring, passing, and rebounding.”
He is averaging around 15 points per game as a junior. What areas has he improved the most this season?
“I feel like my shooting has been a lot better. I have been knocking the shots in. Carson has been driving and kicking to me. Tanner (Bergman) passes it out of the post and I shoot it. I feel like I have been getting a lot better at shooting and finding the open man.”
He spoke about his role on the team.
“I feel they look to me when it is difficult to score. Get people open. Getting to the hole trying to create or spotting up.”
What is he excited for this spring with the Illinois Bears?
“I am looking to the new circuit we just joined. That will be pretty interesting. I am looking forward to some new players we might be getting.”
SIU and SEMO are two programs showing interest and he has visited both. What stands out about SIU?
“It was nice. I liked it. They have a nice facility and coaching staff. They said I would definitely be playing the point guard spot and will be out to watch me.”
SEMO is another program showing significant interest.
“I like their playing style. I like how they set a lot of ball screens. They run an offense like we do here. It is a nice facility and everything.”
What will be important in a program for him?
“A school where I would fit in and play good. Coaching staff and facilities are good. Where I can fit in and play my game.”
