Recruiting Report: Brandon Weston (2021)
One of the state’s top 2021 prospects in the state of Illinois is Lake Forest Academy 6’4” wing Brandon Weston. He recently finished up his season and PHI caught up with the explosive wing. Big time slashing scorer that gets in the lane and makes plays scoring at the hoop. Finishes consistently through traffic at the cup. Also flashes deep range on a jumper. Rebounds very well for his position.
He spoke about his freshman season at Lake Forest Academy.
“This year I felt like I had a really good season because I was surrounded by a bunch of guys who wanted to win and played for the team and not themselves. Also since September my game has improved and elevated in many different ways. But overall I feel like I had a good freshman year.”
Weston went into depth on those ways he has improved this season.
“My basketball IQ. Learning how to score without the ball being in my hands. My outside game has improved since September and also finishing with either hand and being more explosive learning to dunk everything.”
This season he has averaged around 21 points per game. What are his goals for the spring on the circuit?
“To pick up at least three high major D1 offers and take a lot of championships.
He played with East coast Nike EYBL team PSA Cardinals in the past. Will he play with them again?
“Can’t really say anything yet. You’ll be in for a surprise coming spring time.”
He updated us on his early recruitment.
“I’ve gotten a letter from Ohio State and Iowa so far. I’m just waiting for the spring time that’s when the interest and offers will come rolling in.”
Weston is trending toward a top 5 spot in the 2021 rankings heading into the spring. With a strong couple months on the circuit he will definitely be there in the debut rankings.
