Prospect Spotlight: Ahmad Raymond (2020)
An up-and-coming sophomore in Louisiana, 6-foot point guard Ahmad Raymond has a big spring and summer ahead, and it could be his breakout offseason.
The Crescent City youngster says scoring and dishing are his best strengths. And he’ll be using his offseason to work on his left-hand.
“The best part of my game is scoring, but I also like to pass the ball. I feel like I go to the goal, that’s the best part of my game,” said Raymond. “But I’m a good ball-handler and shooter.”
His sophomore season at Crescent City was a good one. And as the starting point guard, he learned to lead at a young age.
“My role is to lead the team since I’m the point guard, and get everybody in position and in the right spots so we can make great plays,” said Raymond.
Now, he’ll head into what will be a very important 16U season with Elfrid Payton Elite. It’ll be his first year playing with the Nike EYBL program
“I just want to get better, and improve myself. And I’m just trying to be one of the top point guards in my class,” said Raymond.
“Before the summer ends, I want to have about two offers. It doesn’t matter from where. But eventually, I’d like to have an offer from a good D1 college.”
