Northstar Weekly Honors: Drake Dobbs
Drake Dobbs did the Double Play; he grabbed both Southwest Metro Athlete of the Week and Northstar Weekly Honors on NorthstarHoopsReport.com.
This was after Dobbs scored a monster 39 points against Hopkins the prior week. Last week, Dobbs and company knocked off #1AAAA Cretin-Derham Hall in one of the absolute biggest wins of the year for any team. The Eagles have won four of their last six games, and they feel pretty good right now.
“We feel very confident, but we are also respecting the other teams in the tournament. We think we’ve peaked at the right moment as a team, and we can’t wait to start the playoffs on Wednesday (against Chanhassen),” Dobbs told NHR.
He knows his role as the combo guard is to score the ball and help others score. On defense, he just tries to be as disruptive as possible.
There are already people talking about how good Dobbs could be. He’s a pure shooter and a dynamic scorer that many, many college programs could potentially benefit from adding.
“Northern Iowa, Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Drake, Creighton, Davidson, George Mason and Nebraska-Omaha have all contacted my AAU coach,” Dobbs added.
Thanks again to our sponsors Intensive Basketball Camp for sponsoring the Northstar Weekly Honors.
