Keenon Cole Wins Player of Week
Congratulations to Streamwood 2019 power forward Keenon Cole on winning the PrepHoopsIllinois Player of the Week! Against St. Charles North he had 32 points and 12 boards.
Cole received 39% of the votes cast. We caught up with Cole go discuss his junior campaign!
“This year I have developed the ability to score more off the dribble. I have been handling the ball a lot more and coming off ball screens and making right reads. I now consistently hit pull up jumpers and get to the rim a lot easier.”
He is averaging 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks per contest. This summer he will be running with the Illinois Wolves in the UAA
“I look forward to playing with top players like Bryant (Brown) and Perry (Cowan). I know with the Wolves that on the circuit they will allow me to show how versatile I am.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“I frequently talk to Tulsa University. I like how they keep in touch with me. I visited Kent State a couple months ago and they send mail here and there.”
He further discussed those programs.
“Both good conferences that I could see myself playing at. Tulsa I like that they have versatile bigs. Kent State was very welcoming and easy to connect with.”
