Jordan Johnson Recruiting (2018)
During the hectic TSSAA Class AA State Tournament, Hamilton Head Coach Will Smith spent a few minutes talking with @PrepHoopsTN about his unsigned seniors.
“Jordan Johnson (and Martrell Brooks) have offers from UT Martin, Tennessee State, and a school in Alabama that I can’t remember,” said Hamilton Head Coach Will Smith.
UT Martin offered Jordan two years ago and they have stayed true to that offer. Johnson and teammate Martrell Brooks earned Tennessee State offers this winter. Unfortunately for both Hamilton Wildcat players Tennessee State Head Coach Dana Ford accepted the top position at Missouri State. His departure takes his program’s offers with him.
Sure Missouri State Head Coach Ford could offer Jordan Johnson a scholarship, but it is much less likely for geographical reasons.
Jordan Johnson was always a great shooter and destined for high school stardom. In the last few months his skills started turning new heads.
NAIA and junior college programs are foaming at the mouth, hoping he falls to their level. Florida College is one junior college program eager to get both a visit and a signature from Jordan.
It is unlikely to happen.
Senior Success
Martrell Brooks earned the Class AA Tournament MVP and Jordan Johnson landed on the All-Tournament team. The Wildcats mowed through the class, but nearly lost in the final to an upstart Fulton Falcon unit.
We ranked Martrell Brooks #17 in the state back in July. He definitely isn't any lower than that now. His mixture of athleticism and strength is uncanny. Limitations to his game–> outside shooting, height for position, but if you look at what he can do you understand he wins.

It took a frenetic second half press from Hamilton to dislodge the Fulton guards. With their customary pressure Hamilton and the deep bench of Hamilton earned the ebullient smiles of victory.
Where will Jordan Johnson’s smile be in the fall?
