Today’s installment of “Five Good Guys” features five players who came up big in Friday Night’s district championship action:
Josh Pritchett 6’4″ Rolla: The 2018 guard had a game for the ages in the Rolla’s 63-60 victory over Helias in the Class 4, District xx championship game. Pritchett scored 41 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs rallied from a 22-point deficit to pull off the stunning district championship victory.
E.J. Bellinger 6’4″ Fort Zumwalt South: The 2019 guard scored a game-high 35 points in the Bulldogs 70-58 victory over rival Fort Zumwalt West in the Class 5, District 8 championship game. A three-level scorer, Bellinger has been a walking bucket throughout the season at 25 points a game.
Ronnie Bell 6’1″ Park Hill: The dynamic 2018 guard scored 26 points to lead the Trojans to a 52-50 victory over No. 1 seed Oak Park in the Class 5, District 16 championship game. A University of Michigan football recruit, Bell has proven to be one of the top and most successful multi-sports athletes in the state.
R.J. Wright 6’1″ Webster Groves: The 2018 guard scored a game-high 28 points in the Statesmen’s 60-32 victory over Vianney in the Class 5, District 6 championship game. On a night when Vianney geared its defense to hold down Webster Groves stars Courtney Ramey and Carte’are Gordon, Wright stepped up with a tremendous individual performance. He has had several this season.
Diego Bernard 6’0″ St. Joe Lafayette: The athletic 2018 guard scored 36 points in the Fighting Irish’ 70-58 victory over Chillicothe in the Class 4, District 16 championship game. A Northwest Missouri State recruit, Bernard is one of the most explosive guards in the Show-Me State.
