Class A Regional Finals: Predictions
The regional finals are set as high school basketball season nears its conclusion. There are many talented teams remaining in Class A that have viable state championship aspirations. We’ll take a look at players to watch in each game followed by a prediction.
Warren DeLaSalle vs. Macomb Dakota
Warren DeLaSalle has a handful of versatile and talented players. Justin Fischer (2018) is an elite point guard who is a high IQ floor leader with great size. He is flanked by athletic and toughsenior forward Luke Pfromm. He is a versatile athlete who can play inside-out or outside-in.
Macomb Dakota is led by youth in superstar Ryan Rollins (2020, PG). He’s a dynamic scorer who has game changing abilities with the ball.

U-D Jesuit vs. Detroit ML King
U-D Jesuit’s Jalen Thomas is a tough guard for every team in the state. He’s tall and skilled with good feet. He’s surrounded by talent like junior guard Daniel Friday.
ML King is led by an excellent backcourt. Antonio Marshall is a senior guard who can effect the game in multiple ways. Jordan Whitford is a junior guard who will leave his mark on the game.

Traverse City West vs. Flint Carman-Ainsworth
Traverse City West is led by Miigwaanhs Barrientoz. He’s a confident player who can stroke the ball from deep.
Flint Carman-Ainsworth has one of the best perimeter defenders in Ja’Kavien Lewis and one of the most physical and strong post players in Mike Fletcher.
Prediction: Flint Carman-Ainsworth
Orchard Lake St. Mary’s vs. Clarkston
Caden Prieskorn is a talented senior forward for OLSM. Their young point guard, Lorne Bowman, is one of the elite playmakers in the 2020 class.
Clarkston is celebrating the return of Mr. Basketball candidate and MSU commit Foster Loyer (2018). Taylor Currie (2018) is one of the most versatile bigs in Michigan.
Prediction: Clarkston
Okemos vs. East Lansing
Okemos is led by an outstanding backcourt with floor leader Noah Pruitt (2020) and scorer Jordan Henry (2018).
East Lansing has Mr. Basketball finalist and University of Michigan commit Brandon Johns (2018) leading the way.
Prediction: East Lansing
Muskegon vs. Holland West Ottawa
Muskegon’s Eonte Tornes is an athletic and gritty junior combo guard. Willie Shanks is a tough two sport athlete who is known for winning with toughness.
Holland West Ottawa is led by senior guard Xavier Wade and senior forward Tyler Bosma. Both are high IQ players who step up in big moments.
Prediction: Muskegon
Belleville vs. Wayne Memorial
Belleville boasts one of the most athletic rosters in the state with small forward and MSU commit Gabe Brown (2018) and guard Davion Williams (2018) leading the way.
Wayne Memorial has senior guard and Cleveland State commit Rashad Williams who might be the best shooter in the state. They also feature guard Isaiah Lewis (2019) who is an explosive scorer who can run an offense or play off the ball.
Prediction: Belleville
Ann Arbor Skyline vs. Novi
Skyline has what could be a D1 backcourt in do it all senior guard Brandon Wade, sharpshooting senior guard Jack Ammerman, and rangy defender Ryan Wade who is a junior guard.
Novi is a team loaded with talent. Senior shooting guard Tray Maddox is an athlete who can score from multiple levels. Big man Tariq Woody (2018) is a game changer. He can beat opponents in the paint or on the high post.
