2020 Josiah Freeman breaks out at Metro Challenge
One of the top performers at the Metro Challenge this past weekend was 6’3 2020 Josiah Freeman of Paul VI. This past weekend Freeman really moved well without the ball and got open for his teammates to pass the ball to him. He mentioned that he is really comfortable shooting the ball after he hits his first shot of the game, “I get hot really fast, once I hit one, I feel like I am not going to miss again.”
He put up some big time numbers this past weekend at the Metro Challenge including a 30 point game in the first game of the day and he wanted to make sure he did just that, “At an event like this I just want to show everybody that I have been working in the gym. I have been in the gym everyday now and I want to show everybody what I got and how confident I am and just do what I do.”
He spoke on his 30 point performance, “You know I just came out and wanted to have a killer mentality. I was hungry coming in and I wanted to make some noise from the beginning.”
He seems very focused to take that mentality into the spring and summer AAU season, “You know I am just trying to get better, get ready for 17s, obviously get a 16u Peach Jam championship and get some offers and just get on the radar a little more.”
As of right now Freeman does not have any offers but that will certainly change sooner rather than later. He is receiving heavy interest from “Maryland, Georgetown, George Mason, George Washington and California.”
