Michigan’s class of 2019 is extremely deep at the point guard position. As the high school season winds down and AAU season is on the horizon, this class will be the epicenter of college recruiting. We will take a look at 10 point guards from 2019 that have a future in college basketball. Coaches at the next level that are in search of point guards will certainly want to keep an eye on these athletes.

Drew Lowder (Ann Arbor Pioneer)

Hunter Dyke | The Ann Arbor News

Lowder will be in the Mr. Basketball conversation next season. He has great straight line speed and always seems to be running downhill. Lowder is also shifty with good hip movement. He can score at all three levels and uses his ability to start and stop on a dime to get looks at the basket.

B. Artis White (Canton)

This young man is an elite perimeter defender. He’s tough and physical and plays like he’s offended if someone scores on him. On offense, B. Artis White is a threat from the perimeter and on the drive. He can hit open teammates when attacking the rim.

Zach Goodline (Coloma)

This kid is underrated. He’s one of the top scoring point guards in Michigan. Goodline is an incredible shooter who has no limits on his range. He can shoot off the dribble or catch. Goodline is a great team leader with a BIG upside.

Joe Moon (Westland John Glenn)

Moon is athletic and knows how to use it. He can put the ball in the basket as well as find his teammates in scoring position. Moon is a very good perimeter defender. He has great lateral movement that helps him shake defenders on offense and stay with his opponent on defense.

Deandre Carter (Muskegon)

Carter is a gritty point guard. He’s very athletic and shows it off with his vertical leap. On the offensive end, he’s most comfortable attacking the rim and scoring or dishing off penetration. Carter is equally as aggressive on defense. He goes at his opponent with an ‘in your face’ style of play.

Caleb Hunter (Southfield Christian)

Hunter is a true floor leader who makes his teammates better. Hunter simply knows how to run a team. He is an excellent ball handler that can dribble through pressure. Hunter has speed and quickness that gives him an advantage on both ends of the floor.

Austin Braun (Grand Rapids Catholic Central)

Braun might be the best pure passer in Michigan. He recently became the all time assist leader at GRCC. Braun can dish the ball out of an offensive set as well as on the break. He’s great with the ball in his hands running an offense. Braun has tons of potential and a very high ceiling for improvement.

Josh Warren (Woodhaven)

If a college coach wants a dynamic point guard, look no further. Warren is explosive on offense and can light up a scoreboard. He has a quick first step and good straight line speed. Warren prefers to play with the ball in hands and in attack mode. He can also play off the ball and be a high level scorer.

Khalid Fleming (Lincoln Park)

Fleming is a humble kid and a solid leader. His teammates respect him and respond to his leadership. Fleming is efficient on offense with a low turnover rate. He’s an elite defender who is always willing to man up with the opponents top scorer.

Clayton Dykhouse (Zeeland East)

Dykhouse has shown drastic improvement over the last year and a half. He’s a hardworking kid who loves being coached and taught the game. Dykhouse is a good floor leader who knows how to run an offense. He plays well with the ball in his hands and is a smart decision maker on the court.
