WNC’s Division II & III Private School Prospects
The list of college prospects in WNC is at an all-time high. Here is a look at the Division II & III college prospects at the private school level in Western North Carolina.
Tai Giger, 6’0, 2018 PG (Carolina Day)-Giger is a strong bodied guard that uses his physical tools to get by defenders and finish in the paint. He is a consistent shooter from deep and can score off the dribble. In my opinion he is a good defender and can guard on the ball. His brother Dee played at Harvard.
Devin Elliott, 6’2, 2018 SG (Carolina Day)-Elliott has the scoring ability and the toughness to compete at the Division II level. He is a slasher from the guard spot and can get the ball in the bucket from almost anywhere on the floor. He is a good shooter with nice form and can attack off the dribble. He recently scored 17 points against one of the top teams in the state, Christ School.
Max Spurling, 6’4, 2018 W (Asheville Christian)-Spurling is a do-it-all wing for Asheville Christian Academy. He excels in with his three-point shot and his ability to grab rebounds. He has the size to compete at the wing spot at the next level, is very coachable, has a high grade-point average and is a high IQ basketball player. He has the ability to get hot from the outside and knock down multiple threes in a row.
Ben Craig, 6’0, 2019 G (Christ School)-Craig was one of the top public school players last season at Owen High School before he made the move to Christ School. He is a skilled guard that can come in and give All-American Jalen Lecque, a breather at times. He can make the three-point shot, he can score from the mid-range, he can attack the basket off the dribble with his quick-first step.
