Unsigned Seniors
There is plenty of talent in the class of 2018 in the Cincinnati area that is still looking for a home at the next level. And while a lot of those players are ranked as the best in the state, some are under the radar talents. Here is a list of the top unsigned senior centers in the Cincinnati area.
Zubi Nwankwo, Walnut Hills High School- As the old saying goes, “You can’t teach size”. And at 7-1, 220 pounds Nwankwo has plenty of size. While still raw on the offensive end his size and athleticism make him a premier rebounder and paint defender. Zubi currently has plenty of low/mid-major D-I level but could benefit from a year of prep school as well to develop more offensively.
Gabe O’Neal, Princeton High School- A big (6-7, 240) whose playing time was inconsistent before this year, O’Neal has had a solid season for the Vikings. Gabe lead the GMC in field goal percentage at 66.3% while averaging 7.0ppg. He would make a solid get for a D-III/NAIA program in need of size in the paint.
E.J. Williams, Middletown High School- Sort of a Man of Mystery, this young man is the most intriguing young big in the state of Ohio. You combine his size, 6-10 and somewhere in the 280-90 range, along with his skill set and athleticism, and you see why he has been on the D-I radar for a long time. Back in Middletown after a few years away at prep school, Williams has great hands and can finish in traffic in the paint. Toledo extended an offer to the Big Blue big man on January 20th per his Twitter page.
