Stone Hoops Forward Earns Honor
As the voting closed Justin Headrick (Stone Memorial) collected yet another win.
Class of 2019 forward Justin Headrick earned @PrepHoopsTN Player of the Week, representing his upstart Stone Memorial Panthers.
Headrick racked up 23 points, 14 rebounds, 7 blocks, 3 assists, and 3 steals in win over McMinn County. While Headrick posted double-doubles all season the Panthers recently managed to string together a season-high five game winning streak. In fact, the Panthers landed in the winner’s column in nine of their last 11 games. Considering they hovered around .500 most of the season the hot streak heading in to the Class AAA Region 3 Championship is ideal.
Player of the Week voters are not the only people noticing Headrick’s play.
“Tennessee Tech came and watched me play in the District Championship,” said Justin Headrick Monday night. “I think Chattanooga is coming to watch me play tomorrow. Bob Jones texted my dad last night (Sunday night). Coach (Casey) Alexander from Lipscomb texted me Saturday night and congratulated me.”
Chattanooga’s coach was unable to attend. Stone Memorial is still alive though. They defeated Warren County. East Hamilton plays Headrick’s Panthers Thursday night. The winner gets the loser between Blackman/Riverdale. The loser gets the other.
Again Justin Headrick earned the PrepHoopsTN Player of the week.
