Recruiting Report: Xavier Rhodes (2018)
Rockhurst (MO) 6’1” senior point guard Xavier Rhodes has a long and wiry frame. Will definitely need to add strength at the next level. So smooth with the rock in his hands and has an advanced feel for the game. Slick handling guard that can get to the rim off the bounce where he finishes well with both hands. Body control around the hoop is impressive. As a passer he displays he can get others involved especially finding his shooters off dribble penetration. Would be an outstanding spring signing for a low-major program.
He talked about his senior season.
“I have been playing really well and improved a lot more this year and averaging around 17 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game. Not just the stats, but I’ve been growing as a leader and being more vocal.”
Rhodes broke down what he feels he can bring to a team at the next level.
“I can take it strong to the basket, hit the open three, and push the ball up the floor to find my teammates or create myself a shot.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Still have interest from Nebraska Omaha, Pittsburg State, Western Illinois, and Drake.”
No offers at this point. He says that Omaha and Pittsburg State are recruiting him the hardest. He recently visited D2 Pittsburg State.
“It was good. Had a great time there and getting to know the head coach, staff, and players. It was a great atmosphere to be in.”
