Recruiting Report: Lathan Falls (2018)
One of the better teams in the Southern half of the state this season is Wood Memorial. Filled with talented upperclassmen and guys that have been around the block, they are 13-5 and looking to make some noise in 1A this postseason. Part of their success this year is coming from senior forward Lathan Falls.
Lathan, a 6’6 forward, has had a big year and a couple game winners that have spurred them to 13 wins this year. He’s been hurt in previous seasons but he’s now on a role and fully healthy and college programs are locking in on the talented forward from the Evansville area.

To date, Lathan holds offers from Saint Francis (IN), IU-Southeast, and Wabash Valley C.C.. Many other programs are taking a look as well including Chaminade, Alaska-Anchorage, Bethel, Malone, and Lee.
While Chaminade, located in Hawaii, and Alaska-Anchorage are programs well outside of the Midwest, those are of interest to Lathan who is open to moving away from home. He’s also looking into a few different degrees including Biology or Broadcasting.
Lathan is that do-it-all forward. He can play all over the place and has the body and agility to play on the win or in the paint. Is a capable scorer at all three levels. As he gets healthier and more in shape, his offense should continue to improve. Defensively, he could give some small school programs some versatility. He’s able to defend threes and fours at the next level while being a little bit of a mismatch on the other end of the floor.
As the season comes to a close, Wood Memorial and Lathan Falls should be able to make a big run and will be one of the top 1A teams this postseason. Look for a potential matchup with Barr-Reeve in Regionals as the game to watch. Wood Memorial could be looking for another buzzer beater from Lathan to keep their season going.
