Recruiting Report: Jason Hubbard (2018)
Miamisburg has had such a strong start to the season. After a slow start, the Vikings now sit at 14-4 and are at the top of the GWOC West. One reason for their success is Jason Hubbard (2018) and his strong performances thus far this year. The senior has put up double digit scoring since a breakout performance against Mountain Mission at Flyin to the Hoop.
Hubbard has become a weapon as a shooter as he has seen massive improvement in his shot since the start of the season. This combined with his ability to attack and finish at the rim makes him one of the most dangerous players in the GWOC. One area where he would like to improve still is his ball handling skill before heading off to Taylor University next season.
Jason selected Taylor University because it was the best fit for him. Several other schools have reached out since a breakout performance at Flyin to the Hoop where he scored 32 points and had a highlight dunk over a high major D1 prospect. Although, Jason is now committed, there is no doubt he could potentially play for a low major D1 team at the collegiate level.
Hubbard and his teammates have helped put Miamisburg on the map as one of the top teasm in Southwest Ohio this year. Jason feels the team is good enough to not only win the GWOC but make it to UD Arena for the district tournament in March. Keep an eye on Hubbard and the Vikings the rest of this season, and watch Jason at the collegiate level.
