Recruiting Report: Jahquine Cox (2018)
Bayside’s floor general, Jahquine Cox is one of the best senior prospects in the Virginia Beach area. Although Bayside has not had the season Cox planned, individually, Cox has developed into a high IQ point guard, and has improved his shooting abilities and has really came into his own. We sat down with Jahquine, or Quine as he is often referred to, and discussed his thoughts on this season.
- How is the season going?
“This season isn’t exactly what I planned, but individually wise, I’m playing pretty solid”
- What do you think has improved the most with your game since last season?
“My outside shot has improved the most out of my game. I feel more comfortable pulling up when I want now, rather than just driving every time, it ultimately puts more pressure on my defender, now that I got both aspects in my game bag”
- What do you feel you personally can bring to a college program?
“Multiple things I could bring to a college program are my leadership skills, unselfishness, discipline, and hard work”
- What are you ultimately looking for in a college program?
“Just to be able to learn, and grow as an athlete”
- Goals for the rest of the season?
“Just to continue to build my basketball IQ and skill set”
Jahquine Cox should be on the watchlist for all D2 & D3 schools that need a late addition floor general. Although his team’s record may not show it, Cox has developed into a leader on and off the court. With Bayside preparing to wrap up the season, look forward to Jahquine ending the season on a high note.
