Recruiting Report: Duoth Gach (2018)
The 15-1 Austin Packers come at teams in waves on both ends of the court and the biggest wave is senior wing Duoth Gach.
“Things are going good for me and my team this winter, we are currently 15-1 and we have beaten a couple of good Class AAAA schools,” Gach said.
The Packers are playing above the expectations set and are now a legit contender for the Class AAA crown. The wins over Lakeville North, Rochester JM, and Forest Lake grabbed the attention of the state as have the Class AAA wins over Totino-Grace, Mankato East, and Northfield.
“The outlook of this team this year is that I think we can win our section and make another trip to state!”
Duoth is scoring 17-18 a game for the Packers leading a double figure group that also includes Moses Issa, Tate Hebrink, and Medi Obang. Duoth has worked hard to become the player he is now and he has big goals for the rest of the season.
“I am becoming better on coming off the dribble and getting to the rim and setting my teammates up,” Duoth said.
“My individual goal is to make all conference and make the all star game and for my team goal is to win the big 9, win the section, and win state.”
A handful of quality junior college programs are calling Duoth consistently at the moment.
“I have been contacted by North East CC in Nebraska, Mississippi Gulf Coast, NDSCS, and Eastern Florida.”
