During the month of February, the NBA All-Star Weekend takes place in which players are selected from each conference based off their performance for the first half of the season. The All-Star starters are what brings the most excitement for the game. In honor of the all-star starter selection, Prep Hoops Nor-Cal would like to feature an “All Under the Radar Team” for each class throughout Northern California. A player from each position will be selected to round up the team. These are the five freshmen that are on the “All Under the Radar Team”.
Jeremiah Jones – Wood HS PG
Jones has had a great freshman season as he is the team’s starting point guard and is on his way into the postseason. He has great footwork and does a good job of setting his teammates up. Jones also can get hot and score in bunches when needed to.
Donjae’ Lindsey – Weston Ranch HS SG
Lindsey has shown off his great playmaking ability this season including his 12 point, three rebounds, and four assists performance in Weston Ranch’s win over Oakdale. He has potential to be a division one player in the future.
Houston Mallette – Salesian HS SF
Mallette has had some key performances during Salesian’s run this season despite being a role player this year. He is playing alongside phenom point guard James Akinjo and the McClanahan twins. Mallette won’t be under the radar for long.
Brock Bowers – Napa HS PF
Bowers has been a bully this year for the Indians as he has protected the rim, as well as rebounding at a high level. During Armijo High School he put up 13 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Bowers will have a great summer this year with NBBA (North Bay Basketball Academy).
Nigel Burris – Stuart Hall HS PF/C
Burris has great size for a freshman and is very skilled. Only time will tell whether he continues to grow as he stands currently at 6’5′ but he has the tools to be really good. He defends and moves his feet well, and can also shoot from the outside.
