Q&A with Foster Wonders (2021)
Foster Wonders is arguably the mitten’s best kept secret. Wonders attends Iron Mountain High School in the upper peninsula. He is 6’4 as a freshman, which means there is likely at least a couple of more inches bound to come within the next few years to Wonders’ frame. Wonders had an early season stress fracture in his foot, but since then the freshman wing has been on a tear averaging 20 points per contest. The Iron Mountain freshman is extremely versatile; he can score from inside and outside, he has strong court vision, and he is a good rebounder. His long wing span also helps him out a bit on defense too. Get to know him better with this Q&A below:
Question: What are the biggest strengths of your game?
Foster Wonders: My versatility, being able to play multiple positions, shooting from 3 point range, mid range and inside.
Question: What do you need to improve on the most to take your game to the next level?
Foster Wonders: My speed and quickness.
Questions: What sets you apart from your competitors?
Foster Wonders: Being coachable and having a passion to get better at every part of my game every day.
Question: What game are you most looking forward to in the rest of this season? Why?
Foster Wonders: Norway, it is our first game of the district tournament.
Question: Have you been recruited by any colleges yet?
Foster Wonders: Yes, I received my first scholarship offer from Northern Michigan University.
Question: What type of college do you want to attend?
Foster Wonders: Ultimately, a Division 1 school which is what pushes me to improve every day.
Question: What is your favorite class in school?
Foster Wonders: English.
Question: What are you planning on majoring in?
Foster Wonders: Sports Management.
Question: What is a short term goal you have?
Foster Wonders: To help my team keep winning.
Question: What is a long term goal you have?
Foster Wonders: To play Division 1 basketball.
Question: Who do you plan on playing AAU with in the spring and summer?
Foster Wonders: Green Bay Packers Head Coach, Mike McCarthy is putting together a new 15u team called Pack Attack and I am going to try to play in a couple events with The Family.
Question: What is your favorite pre-game ritual?
Foster Wonders: Listening to Drake.
Question: What college or NBA player do you consider your game most similar to? Why?
Foster Wonders: Denzel Valentine, because I play multiple positions on the floor.
