Prospect Watch: Damon Trump (2019)
Bethlehem Academy is 13-9 on the season and being led in scoring by junior Damon Trump. The 6-foot-2 guard is handling both guard roles and he spoke with NHR today.
“So far this year we have gone in good stretches but also some not so good,” Damon said. “But overall I would say my team has been playing our best ball of the year right now.
“I feel like I am having my best varsity year season improving on scoring, facilitating, and on the defensive end.”
The Falcons have won four of their last five games and this is after losing four of five. In Section 1A there is Rushford-Peterson and Spring Grove as the main favorites and then a large group of contenders after them. The Falcons are likely the top contender after those main two teams.
“Heading into our final stretch of basketball I feel like we have the possibility to be playing our best ball of the year which makes us a hard team to beat,” Damon said.
As an older player Damon has evolved his game.
“Right now I feel my game has changed from just a shooter to now a much more balanced scorer. By pull up jumpers and attacking the rim my game has improved.”
Trump is also starting to receive mail from the local group of college coaches that recruit Minnesota. He’s a name to watch out for going forward.
