Prospect Spotlight: Jayden Moran (2019)
Currently checking in as Idaho’s 23rd-ranked 2019, 5-foot-11 point guard Jayden Moran has a big rest of the the year ahead of him.
A Vallivue product, Moran will try and lead his team as far as he can in postseason play before embarking on what will be important 17U campaign.
He’s hoping to showcase his skill-set to as many people as possible.
“I’m very good at ball-handling, and I’m a good finisher and passer. I like to make pocket passes and find the extra man with one more pass. I like to get to the rim and I can finish well once I’m there,” said Moran.
“I need to improve on my outside shooting a little bit more. And I’m always improving on my ball-handling.”
The Falcons will play their final regular season game tonight, and start districts this Saturday. Moran has been the starting point guard all season.
“My role is to be the playmaker, I dribble the ball a lot and find guys with the pass. I’m a very good defensive player, so I guard the best players from the opposing team, and just do what I can to stop them from scoring.”
As soon as he’s done with his junior season, Moran will shift his focus to a 17U season with Boise Flight. It’ll be his first year playing with the program.
“I joined Boise Flight because the last couple of teams haven’t been the very best, and Ryan Lundgren is the director for that program,” said Moran.
So far, just one college program has reached out to the junior guard, JuCo Blue Mountain in Oregon.
“I haven’t been getting a lot of recruitment yet,” said Moram. “But I hope to get a lot this upcoming spring and summer.”
