Prospect Introduction: 2019 Norris Taylor
2019 Norris Taylor walked into Sebring two years ago as a freshman and played his way to a varsity spot. This season, in his third year he’s taken over the leadership role and thriving in it.
Taylor came into high school known as a shooter but over time, he has developed into a complete player. This year he’s averaging 19 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
I asked Taylor what did he set to accomplish coming into the year, how far he believes his team can go, and how has this season made him a better leader. He responded saying, ” I came into the year with a point to prove because I’ve played with upperclassmen so I wasn’t a key focus. This year I’m the upperclassman so I have to show the guys the way to win. Its been a struggle but we only have 4 teams in our district. Win one and we in the playoffs, that’s my goal. I think my will to win and desire to get to the next level has pushed me to become the best player I can be. I stay working on my game seven days a week.”
Sebring is sitting in the third seat and Taylor believes he can lead his team to a district win and get into the playoffs where anything can happen. He has a nice stroke from deep and developing a quick first step. This off season will be big for Taylor, he says he plans to work on everything he can.
