Player of the Week: Week 9
Another week, another set of nominees for Player of the Week. Based on their play last week, here are the nominees:
Glenn Queen (Fairdale) – The Junior Bulldog was honored for scoring 1,000 career points last week while putting up good numbers all week long. Queen has had 3 straight Double Doubles and is currently averaging 12.5 points per game for the season for one of the surprise teams in Louisville this season.
Nick Keeton (Paintsville) – Just a sophomore, Keeton had a big week for Coach Landon Slone’s Tigers. Against Johnson Central, Nick scored 7 points and dished 6 assists while pulling down a remarkable 23 rebounds in the win. In another win against Greenup County, Keeton scored 14 points and added 11 rebounds and 2 assists.
Brennan Hall (Newport Central Catholic) – The senior leader for the Thoroughbreds, Hall had 22 points and hit the game winning three against Scott then had a double double against Bishop Brossart when he scored 25 and chipped in 10 rebounds.
Peyton Luttrell (North Bullitt) – Against Fairdale, the senior scored 20 points, dished out 7 assists and picked up 3 steals. Against Bullitt Central, the point guard scored 15 points and added 7 assists.
Devin Pendergrass (Butler) – In a double overtime thriller with Manual, the Senior wing scored 37 points and 24 rebounds in a win. In a low scoring affair with PRP, Pendergrass was held to 3 points but stuffed the stat sheet with multiple rebounds and assists while making winning plays for the Bears.
