Player of the Week: Week 11
As the postseason has tipped off, we have the last group of nominations for Player of the Week:
Mickey Pearson (John Hardin) – In two road wins, the Senior scored 24 and grabbed 12 rebounds then tied his career high with 47 points at Daviess County. Mickey also pulled down 15 rebounds while hitting the shot that sent the game to OT and made the free throws that sealed the win.
Dontaie Allen (Pendleton County) – The Junior scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win against Bourbon County then had 43 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks against Paris. During the week, Allen went over 2,600 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
TreVon Smith (Taylor County) – The Junior had 39 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in a win over Casey County while be awarded his 1,000 point ball. He had 23 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Henry Clay.
Michael Moreno (Scott County) – Another Junior, Moreno had 33 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Adair County on Monday, 24 points and 7 rebounds in a win over Covington Holy Cross and 25 points and 7 rebounds in a win over Dunbar.
Kyle Rode (Lexington Christian) – Yet another junior, Rode had 16 points and 3 rebounds against Lafayette, 19 points and 7 rebounds against Bryan Station and 16 points and 6 rebounds and the game winning shot against Trinity.
