Pine Forest Junior Guard Adrian Elliott: The 1st quarter belonged to this young man as he knocked down 3 quick treys to give him 9 points and push his teams lead to almost two in one period. Adrian has a gift for scoring the ball by using his speed and strength and plays the game with a high amount of confidence.
Cape Fear HS Senior Guard Kevin McLaughlin: It’s no surprise that he has been one of the leaders in the county for points per game. Although he is not the tallest player on the court, he plays with a confidence and skillset that makes you respect him.
Pine Forest Junior Guard Jordan Gladney: You have to love what he brings to the floor with his intensity and ability to score the ball as well as pushing the tempo. The second half was where he made the most impact scoring wise, helping his team go on a final game changing run.
Pine Forest Sophomore Guard Vonte McLean: He led his team in overall scoring and caught fire in the second half which helped his team in a major way. He shots a very high percentage from 3 point land while bringing a nice amount of effort defensively.
Pine Forest Junior Forward Kennan Ogarra: Kennan went to work throughout this game, scoring and rebounding at a very high level. He would finish the game with a double/double and was instrumental in the success of his team.
Cape Fear HS Senior Forward Myron Williams: Offensively he didn’t have his best day but he was active on the glass as usual and made some solid moves in the post. Once he gets into the right college program, we feel he will excel and have a very nice college career
Cape Fear HS Junior Wing Chase Dawkins: Late in the game he caught fire and knocked down multiple trey balls from the corner of the floor. He shoots the ball with confidence and is a player that you love to have on your team to break down a zone defense.
Cape Fear HS Senior Wing Shaq Angel: Throughout the season he was still finding his way on his new team and showed flashes of how good he can be. He’s an athletic player that uses his leaping ability to make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor.
