News & Notes from Week 1 Of Feb!
- Lumberton HS Sophomore Guard Jordan McNeill has continued to play at a very high level, just this week he has put together some impressive scoring performances with an averages of 27.5 per game in two games. He is still without an offer at this point which is somewhat of a surprise but if he continues to play at this level, schools will have no choice but to offer.
- Coby White and The Greenfield Knights got their revenge on Trinity Christian on Thursday night, picking up a win in a matchup that could very well be the NCISAA 1A Championship. Duke Commit Joey Baker scored 27 for the Crusaders, while Coby White led the Knights in scoring with 37 points.
- Farmville Central Sophomore Guard Justin Wright has been filling up the stat sheets this week, in his last two games he is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, 6 Assist and 5 steals. He is another youngster who has yet to pick up an offer at this point and will be one to keep a close eye on going into the spring.
- West Columbus Forward Jake Brownlee has decided to reopen his recruitment and has decomitted from Lees-McRae. Jake has been an absolute beast this season and is averaging 25 points and 14 per contest for his squad. After speaking with him yesterday, we know that he is looking for an up-tempo style of program to play with at the next level.
- Smithfield-Selma Unsigned Senior Guard Kavon Ward has kept up his stellar play throughout the year, just recently he scored 19 points in a win over Cleveland HS. He is a D2 caliber player but will need to do two years of JUCO so D2 or D3 JUCO programs should be giving him a call.
- Hoke County Unsigned Senior Guard Dakari Johnson has been a sleeper prospect for quite some time now and he continued to show why that should change with a 40 point (8 treys) performance vs Purnell Sweet. Schools should be calling and offering this young man right now as he has already qualified and is a high character individual.
- Bunn HS Unsigned Senior Ghage Kenan passed the 1,00 point mark his career as helped led his team to a win over Roanoke Rapids.
- Cape Fear Christian Unsigned Senior Forward Milos Galogaza picked up some interest from Chowan University and would be a steal for a program at the D2 level. He is a typical stretch forward type of player with the ability to play inside but knocks down the outside shot very well.
- Bull City Prep Guard Malique Jacobs has become one of the top JUCO prospects on the east coast and schools have been bringing him in for visits as of late. He will be a nice pickup for whatever school is fortunate enough to get him as he is a 6’4 PG that can: score, facilitate and defend well.
