NCISAA 1A Semi-Finals Preview
Trinity Christian vs United Faith: The only reason that this game may not be sold out is due to the fact that it’s starting at 3:30pm. Otherwise this has all the making of being a game that will be talked about for months following. United Faith got a big time win on the road last weekend against Northwood Temple, while Trinity Christian defeated Wayne Country Day at home.
Matchup to Watch: Trinity features 3 High Major D1 players in: Joey Baker , Greg Gantt and Audiese Toney while United Faith has their own group of D1 level wings and forwards with: KC Hankton, Nate Springs and Jaylen Sims all headed to D1 programs. With that being said, the difference making matchup will come down to the PG’s with Trinity Guard KJ Marshall and United Faith Guard Rafael Jenkins going head to head. Whichever PG can get their team into it’s sets early and often while keeping the turnovers low, will have a chance to advance.
Burlington School vs Greenfield School: When discussing this matchup with different people across the basketball world of North Carolina, the common the theme has been a lack of knowledge about the Burlington School squad. In years past they have been a team that plays tremendous defense and is very well coached. That is exactly what they will need this year as they have to face off against the All-Time leading scorer in Coby White and the Greenfield Knights.
Key to the Game: The difference makers in this game will be Elijah McCadden & Djimon Bailey, White will get his numbers regardless of who is defending. However if these two players perform as well as they can, then defeating Greenfield becomes a much taller task for the Burlington School. On the other hand Burlington School will to do what they do best in order to come up with a win and that is too play top notch ‘‘TEAM’’ defense.
